These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of sushihounds.us and the SushiHounds companion app and member website at app.sushihounds.us (together, the "Services"), operated by SushiHounds ("SushiHounds," "we," "us"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
Accounts
You must provide accurate account information and confirm your email address to activate your account. You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. Let us know right away at info@sushihounds.us if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
Accounts are Free
A SushiHounds account is free. Certain optional features (for example, Sushi Meetups tasting sessions) may involve a fee, which will be clearly disclosed and processed through our payment processor, Stripe, before you're charged.
Your Content
You retain ownership of the reviews, ratings, photos, and other content you submit ("Your Content"). By submitting Your Content, you grant SushiHounds a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute it as part of operating and promoting the Services (for example, showing your review on a restaurant's page or a sushi item's page).
You agree that Your Content will not:
- Be false, misleading, defamatory, or knowingly inaccurate;
- Infringe anyone else's intellectual property or privacy rights;
- Contain harassment, hate speech, or unlawful content; or
- Be spam, fake reviews, or otherwise manipulate ratings or Hall of Fame voting.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion.
Judge Sushi & Hall of Fame
Judge certification and Hall of Fame voting are community/fan recognitions intended for entertainment and community engagement. They are not an official food-safety inspection or professional culinary certification, and results are determined solely by member participation and SushiHounds' own rules, which may change at any time.
Sushi Meetups
Sushi Meetups let members arrange to meet in person around a shared sushi outing. You arrange and attend meetups entirely at your own risk. SushiHounds does not perform background checks on members, does not supervise meetups, and is not responsible for the conduct of any member you meet through the Services. Always meet in public places and use good judgment.
Payments
Where a fee applies, payment is processed by Stripe. Fees, once paid for a completed service, are generally non-refundable except as required by law or as otherwise stated at the time of purchase.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or data;
- Interfere with or disrupt the Services or their infrastructure; or
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Services without our permission.
Intellectual Property
The SushiHounds name, logo, and site content (excluding Your Content) are owned by SushiHounds and may not be used without our permission.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that restaurant information, hours, menus, or grades are always accurate or up to date.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SushiHounds is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services, including damages arising from Sushi Meetups or reliance on restaurant, item, or review information.
Termination
You may close your account at any time within the app. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA.
